Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN), through the Office of the Quality Assurance and Management Systems (OQAMS), welcomed a delegation from Pangantucan Bukidnon Community College (PBCC) on July 20, 2026, at the OC Conference Room for a benchmarking activity highlighting the University’s best practices in quality assurance, governance, academic management, research, and student services.
The PBCC delegation, led by Quality Assurance Management Chief Prof. Lourdes D. Abitona, was welcomed by MSUN Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Assoc. Prof. Gergie B. Ambato, together with OQAMS Director Assoc. Prof. Heidie Amor A. Parcia and other University officials. The activity brought together administrators, office heads, and administrative personnel from both institutions for an exchange of knowledge and innovative practices that support continuous institutional improvement.
The formal discussions opened with the welcome remarks of Program Certification and Accreditation Unit Head Assoc. Prof. Stephen John V. Magoncia, followed by interactive discussions in which participants shared experiences, exchanged perspectives, and discussed institutional approaches to addressing common challenges. The visit also provided the PBCC delegation with a deeper understanding of MSUN’s institutional systems and innovative practices that may help strengthen their own quality improvement initiatives.
Among the key areas discussed were institutional governance and strategic planning, faculty and staff recruitment and development, quality assurance policies and documentation, curriculum alignment with the standards of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), academic scheduling, student development programs, and faculty research support.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited several key offices across the University, where they gained firsthand insights into MSUN’s institutional systems, operational practices, and service delivery mechanisms. These visits complemented the benchmarking sessions by allowing the delegates to observe how the University’s best practices are implemented across various administrative and academic units.
The benchmarking activity reaffirmed Mindanao State University at Naawan’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with fellow higher education institutions by sharing its established systems and best practices. Through the exchange of operational experiences and institutional approaches, the activity supported PBCC’s continuing efforts to enhance its governance, quality assurance, and academic management systems while reinforcing MSUN’s role as a valued partner in institutional development.
