The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Global Engagement (OVCRIGE) at Mindanao State University in Naawan (MSUN) acts as the main coordinating office responsible for overseeing and managing the university’s research, innovation, extension, production, publication, intellectual property, and global engagement efforts. It guarantees that all related programs and activities are effectively carried out and aligned with the university’s strategic goals, policies, and priorities toward academic excellence and sustainable development.
Under its supervision are four main units—the Research and Innovation Institute (RII), Technical and Support Services Center (TSSC), Develops, Adopts, Responds, Encourages, Sustains (DARES) Center, and the Office of Global Engagement and Partnership (OGEP). These units collectively drive the university’s efforts to promote research productivity, technological advancement, and international collaboration. Each unit works in coordination with OVCRIGE to strengthen institutional capabilities and foster innovation across various disciplines.
Specifically, the RII manages and coordinates research programs focused on fisheries, natural resources, the environment, and related fields that contribute to national and global competitiveness. The TSSC provides essential technical services, including laboratory analyses, publication management, ethics review, and intellectual property protection. The DARES Center leads the university’s extension and community engagement programs through capacity-building, technology transfer, and non-formal education, while the OGEP directs MSUN’s internationalization initiatives by strengthening global partnerships and academic collaborations.
