Service, Friendship, Growth: KAABAG holds tribute ceremony for outgoing members

Honoring its outgoing members and welcomed the newly elected ones, Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) Student Peer Facilitator – KAABAG held its Tribute Ceremony on June 25, 2026, at the Institute of Fisheries and Research Development(IFRD).

The afternoon opened with a welcome message from Guidance Counselor Mr. Miko Neco B. Omondang, followed by an inspirational talk from Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services Ms. Arleen B. Uy.Â
In her message, Ms. Uy reminded both the outgoing and incoming student peer facilitators not to forget about their own well-being while serving others. She encouraged them to practice self-love and self-compassion, noting that a KAABAG can only keep giving support to others if they also take care of themselves first.

The event was also graced by the presence of KAABAG alumni, whose attendance highlighted the organization’s enduring sense of community. Their support and contributions played a significant role in making the tribute ceremony possible, while their continued encouragement inspired both the outgoing members and the newly inducted student peer facilitators.
Furthermore, the ceremony then moved to the turnover of leadership. Outgoing members shared testimonies that looked back on how they first joined KAABAG, the friendships they built along the way, and how the experience helped them grow as individuals and as leaders.

The event closed with remarks from Ms. Yzl Debbie Ebina, who thanked the outgoing members for their service and welcomed the new set of student peer facilitators into their roles.Â
More than a simple change in leadership, the ceremony was a celebration of growth, friendship, and the lasting impact of KAABAG’s peer support work on campus.
