The internally-funded extension project titled “Tagbalogoats: Quality Forage Assistance Project for Sustainable Livestock Production in Brgy. Tagbalogo, Naawan, Misamis Oriental” successfully conducted a training session on the basics of goat production and forage propagation on December 18, 2023, at the Barangay Hall of Barangay Tagbalogo, Misamis Oriental. The training drew the participation of goat raisers and farmers who displayed a keen interest in goat production. The following topics were covered during the session: 1. Introduction to Goat Production by Mr. Mark Anthony T. Maña 2. Goat Health and Management by Ms. Richelle A. Niepes 3. Goat Production Systems by Mr. Jimboy S. Asiñero 4. Goat Feeding and Nutrition by Ms. Mechie Ann C. Florida 5. Forage Species for Goat Production by Mr. Marson Andrei A. Dapanas 6. Business Opportunities in Goat Production by Mr. Aljon A. Ogale 7. Forage Production Activities by Mr. Crisologo A. Tagupa The training provided practical insights, primarily conveyed in Cebuano. In addition to the knowledge shared, participating farmers received improved forage species known to enhance goat production, which they will be responsible for planting. The team will monitor the progress of the farmers who received the forages. The success of the event was made possible through the support and assistance of the MSUN extension division, led by Maam Mariefe Quiñones, as well as the Barangay Captain of Tagabologo, Mr. Gideon Jagonal, and the chairman for the Committee on Agriculture, Bel Jagonal.
