Mindanao State University at Naawan

With discussions on medical and clothing allowances, human resource-related topics, and general faculty information, the employees of Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) gathered at the MSUN Function House on January 17, 2025.

In the morning, Ms. Nelvie Juezan, Director for Finance, discussed the Guidelines on the Grant of Medical Allowance, with Campus Infirmary Medical Officer Dr. Deanna Pauleen G. Valdez providing an overview of the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO).

Following this, Ms. Juezan presented the Guidelines on the MSUN employees’ uniform and the grant of uniform/clothing allowance for the fiscal year 2025. The discussion was based on Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 16, s. 2024.

Employees also participated in a vote to decide on the Filipiniana-inspired uniform, assisted by members of the University Uniform Committee. After that, Human Resource Management Officer Ms. Columba R. Dadole talked about Recruitment, Hiring, and Retirement.

In the afternoon, the General Faculty meeting began with Assoc. Prof. Sylvia C. Labial’s lecture on Ethical Standards for Teachers, followed by Assoc. Prof. Juvy Arjona, who expanded on ethics and morality.

Next, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Asst. Prof. Gergie A. Ambato discussed Faculty Roles, Responsibilities, and Development Programs. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services Ms. Arleen B. Uy addressed Individual, Organization, and Agency Performance Commitment and Review. Dr. Rey Y. Capangpangan, Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Global Engagement, then spoke on Research, Extension, and Innovation.

Moreover, employees were also able to ask questions and clarify some concerns to the resource persons.

“Try to have a minute of reflection. A minute of reflection on asking yourself what you have done in the past that you were able to sustain until today, and what you should do tomorrow aron na maabot jud nato atong retirement that we were able to deliver what is expected of us for MSU at Naawan,” said Chancellor Dr. Elnor C. Roa.

Furthermore, the General Assembly provided an opportunity to inform employees about essential information for the fiscal year 2025.
