Small-scale fisheries are generally more sustainable and environmentally friendly. These fishers often use low-impact fishing techniques that have been honed over generations. These fisheries play a crucial role in supporting local economies, particularly in coastal communities, which provides employment opportunities for local residents, contributing to livelihoods and fostering a sense of community identity, especially in regions where fish is a primary protein source. #SSF#tbtiphilippines
