The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) presented a Certificate of Merit to MSUN as laudable recognition of its excellent performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages and institutional qualifications leading to the designation of its Fisheries program as Center of Excellence (COE) consistently from 2016 up to the present;

For demonstrating the potential for excellent performance leading to the designation of its Marine Science Program as Center of Development (COD) from 2016 up to the present;

For serving as potent catalyst for world-class scholarships, best practices, innovative curricula, research and extension and professional development, thus contributing to local, regional and national development and for the pride and honor these designations bring to the Region X community.

COE is the highest distinction granted by CHED to a university for programs assessed among the country’s strongest in the areas of instruction for innovative curriculum and faculty profile, research and publication, extension and linkages, and institutional qualifications.

“this recognition is not about us; but it has direct impact to all education stakeholders. And we are optimistic that with everyone’s cooperation and initiative, we can assure our students and parents that MSUN has been consistently committed to a process of continuous improvement and braced by the highest quality standards.”-Chancellor Elnor C.
