MSU at Naawan signs partnership agreement with SAMDHANA Institute and BothENDS

In collaboration with The SAMDHANA Institute and and BothENDS/Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Netherlands, under the Fair, Green and Global Program (FGG3), Mindanao State University at Naawan through its Extension Division, signed a partnership agreement for the implementation of the project community based Enterprise Development and Skills Enhancement for Socio Economic Transformation.

With this project, it is expected that the community beneficiary in Brgy. Balintad, Manticao, Misamis Oriental will be trained in tilapia grow out operation, tilanggit production, product development, marketing, entrepreneurial skills, and financial management.

Tilanggit is a dried fish also known as tilapiang dinanggit, inspired by the usual dries danggit (rabbit fish), a favorite fishery product from the Visayas.

The project aims to address issues on poverty and food security utilizing a decade-long experience and expertise of MSU at Naawan in the field of aquaculture complementing the availability of local resources of the partner community. It focuses on assisting a community based organization in developing an agri fishery enterprise and capacitating individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure sustainability and gain grounds.
