Office of the Student Services and Development (OSD)
The Office of Student Development (OSD) of Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) functions as a specialized unit under the administrative and policy supervision of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services (VCSAS). Its mandate is anchored on the University’s mission to promote holistic student formation, ensuring that learners are provided with avenues for personal growth, leadership cultivation, and community engagement beyond the confines of academic instruction. The MSUN-OSD is tasked with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of structured programs and services that address the developmental needs of the student body. These initiatives are strategically designed to strengthen leadership competencies, promote responsible citizenship, and encourage active participation in both co-curricular and extracurricular domains. The Office likewise serves as the central coordinating body for student organizations, facilitating their recognition, compliance with institutional policies, and alignment of activities with the University’s educational objectives.
The MSUN-OSD ensures that student development interventions are responsive to contemporary societal demands and institutional priorities. This includes organizing leadership skills enhancement workshops, skills training, coordination in the conduct of cultural and artistic programs, sports development activities, meaningful co-curricular and extracurricular activities, and community-based service projects. Each of these undertakings is guided by the principle that student involvement in organized activities contributes significantly to the acquisition of transferable skills, the strengthening of values, the nurturing of a socially accountable mindset, and development of professional competence. Ultimately, the Office of Student Development seeks to integrate academic learning with experiential opportunities, thereby cultivating graduates who are not only competent in their respective fields of specialization but are also prepared to assume leadership roles in diverse professional and civic contexts. Through its deliberate and sustained efforts, the MSUN-OSD contributes to the creation of a dynamic and inclusive campus environment that upholds the University’s vision of producing morally upright, socially engaged, and globally competitive individuals.
