Continuing the two-day Futures Thinking and Value Creation event at Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) on September 20, 2024, participants and stakeholders gathered to explore and formulate long-term strategies aimed at enhancing value creation within the university and its surrounding communities.

The diverse group of stakeholders included representatives from various sectors, such as students, alumni, parents, and industry and community partners, fostering a rich dialogue on the future of MSUN.

Assoc. Prof. Jalaine Joyce V. Malabanan, who presented during the first day, led an insightful session on Causal Layered Analysis, encouraging participants to critically engage with complex issues and envision transformative solutions.

Following her presentation, participants conducted a thorough assessment of existing systems and identified key areas for improvement, all with the goal of shaping MSUN’s trajectory toward 2039. This collaborative effort aimed to ensure that the university evolves to meet the changing needs of its stakeholders and the broader society.

An open discussion further enriched the exchange of ideas, allowing participants to voice their thoughts and aspirations for MSUN.

Furthermore, Mr. Emmanuel R. De Guia delved into the concept of Strategic Narrative, emphasizing its crucial role in shaping perceptions and guiding decision-making. He also challenged the MSUN participants to negotiate the values with the stakeholders.

Dr. Elnor C. Roa, Chancellor of MSU at Naawan, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the collaborative spirit of the gathering, stating, “If MSU at Naawan is blessed with me as the Chancellor, it is even more than the word blessed for me having you with me for MSU at Naawan.”

This event marked a significant step in building a shared vision for MSUN, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and collective action in driving meaningful change.
