On August 17, 2023, MSU-Naawan and MSU-Buug agreed to collaborate on a research project, through a Memorandum of Agreement, in support to the aquaculture sector, to increase the production and intensify initiatives on aquaculture for food security and for income generation of fish farmers.
The project, “Utilization of Fruit Processing Waste as a source of prebiotics and immunostimulants for the development of healthy and improved aquaculture feeds”, is a research project funded by DOST-PCAARRD.
With the MOA, MSU-Naawan will act as the project lead implementer, represented by Dr. Fiona L. Pedroso, a faculty member from the School of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. MSU-Naawan will also supervise and implement activities as specified in the approved work and financial plan, provide technical advice, monitor and evaluate the project progress, and prepare technical paper for publication.
MSU-Buug also did a benchmarking activity on the BS Fisheries program of MSU-Naawan.
